What information we collect
A. Information you provide
Through your use of the Services, you may provide account information, profile details, messages and content, character and scene preferences, payments, transactions, rewards, and customer support messages.
B. Information we collect automatically
We automatically log information about your computer or mobile device, your network, and your interactions over time with our Services. This includes device and network data, usage data, cookies, web beacons, and local storage technologies.
How we use your information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Operating and administering the Services
Purpose: Providing, maintaining, troubleshooting, account management, purchases, support, and administrative notices.
Legal basis: Contractual necessity

Providing the core functionality of the Apps
Purpose: Personalizing AI companions, scenes, conversation continuity, safety systems, and history sync.

Monitoring and protecting the Services
Purpose: Preventing fraud, criminal activity, misuse, abuse, and protecting systems, architecture, and networks.

B. Sensitive information.
The Services allow you to input information that may be sensitive and subject to special protections under applicable laws. If you choose to provide sensitive information in messages or content, we use it only to facilitate your Varenchat experience and as described in this Policy.
Optional website analytics
If you allow optional analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 on public website pages to measure page visits, app store link clicks, and public character selections. This may include page titles, page paths, referring pages, campaign parameters, and limited browser or device information. We do not send conversation content, account details, or payment information to this analytics service.
We save your allow or reject choice in this browser's localStorage. We do not load Google Analytics or send analytics requests before you allow it; rejecting analytics keeps optional collection off. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer. When you withdraw consent, we stop future analytics collection and remove Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website. Rejecting analytics does not prevent you from using the website.
Google Analytics cookies are configured to expire after at most 400 days and are not renewed by page updates. Retention of event data in Google Analytics is controlled separately by the property's retention setting.
On our websites and browser-based experience, a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal disables optional analytics collection and overrides a saved or new analytics consent choice. Our browser analytics configuration disables Google signals and advertising personalization signals and denies consent for advertising storage, advertising user data, and advertising personalization.
Account deletion and retention
Information may be processed in multiple jurisdictions where we or our vendors operate infrastructure.
After identity verification and a successful account deletion, ordinary account and conversation data are deleted from our primary database immediately, except restricted financial records and records subject to a legal hold.
Associated R2 object storage data and Redis caches are deleted within 24 hours. Ordinary backup copies roll off within 35 days, except where a legal hold or legal obligation requires longer retention.
Encrypted financial and app store payment evidence is retained for 7 calendar years based on the relevant transaction or record date, then automatically deleted unless a legal hold or legal obligation requires longer retention. Retained records are restricted to billing, security, dispute resolution, and legal obligations and are not used to provide an active account.
Where information is processed
Our production application database is hosted on Amazon Web Services in the US East (Ohio) region (us-east-2). Our production media and private feedback object storage uses Cloudflare R2. The current storage location shown for these buckets is Western North America (WNAM), under Cloudflare's default jurisdiction configuration; these buckets are not configured with a specific jurisdiction restriction.
Storage location does not describe every place where our service providers process data or deliver cached content. Information may be accessed or processed across borders.
How we share your information
We may share information with companies and individuals that provide services on our behalf or help us operate Varenchat, such as hosting, analytics, customer support, payment processing, and security services.
We may share limited website and device information for advertising or measurement, but we do not share Varenchat conversation content with advertising partners for marketing purposes.
We may also share information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer.
How we secure your information
We use reasonable security technologies and procedures designed to protect information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No technology, data transmission, or system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, withdrawal of consent, or restrictions on certain processing of your personal information. We may ask for information to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
